Ah hah…this is my favorite part about my work. The individualized coaching. I could tell you all the right books to read, or give you a list of all the foods you should be eating, but the most effective part of the work is the coaching.

A coach is an outside eye into your life. It’s intimate work, and it’s not focused on the past. Your habits from the past do not define you, nor are they blueprints for your actions in the future.

Coaching is something that hasn’t been well studied, but anecdotally, is a very successful thing.  It keeps your attention centered on your intentions and goals. You of course, have everything in you to do this journey on your own, but with a coach who can guide you, it’s a lot quicker to get to where you want to go, and a lot more fun, in my opinion

There’s a great article that came out in 2011 in The New Yorker about the efficacy of coaching… check it out.

I also love working with clients holistically; looking at your entire lifestyle, a large part of course being what you eat.

Each person I work with is different, and I work with each client to have customized goals. Here are some different outcomes that different clients have achieved through our programs.

  • Learning to Listen to Their Bodies: Many clients I work with have been taught that health means controlling your food intake. Counting calories and macros, creating strict rules about when and what they can eat are all external cues about eating and have nothing to do with the innate wisdom your body has. Let’s practice listening and letting the body self correct.

  • Digestion: Some clients had NO CLUE that what they were eating was causing their symptoms of fatigue, or bloating, or upset stomach. Or they had no idea that they were constipated. Really. The work that we do is to really create an awareness with your body that is on a whole new level.

  • Cooking: I love cooking. I also love to eat out, but there is nothing more satisfying to me than to make my own fabulous meal and to share it with the people I love. Part of this love is I love teaching people how to nourish themselves in the kitchen. From knife skills, to cooking simple veggies, to making fun snacks with your kids, I love sharing time in the kitchen together.

  • Celebrating Food: Many clients have learned toxic behaviors around controlling and limiting food. When you learn to eat real, whole foods, things will naturally come into a balance and we can celebrate eating delicious, nourishing foods every day.
